Effective DEET-based active ingredient
OFF! Active contains DEET which is the common name for N, N-Diethyl-m-toluamide. DEET works by interfering with neurons and receptors located on the mosquito’s antennae that detect chemicals such as lactic acid and carbon dioxide. In addition, it is also effective against fly, mosquito and chigger bites. When applied correctly, DEET forms a vapor barrier on the skin that deters mosquitoes from landing on the skin.
