Summa’s Net 30 has closed
Summa is no longer accepting new Net 30 applications. If you came looking for one, what you actually need is a supplier that does the same job — office supplies now, invoice in 30 days.
What happened to the Summa Net 30 account
Summa Office Supplies has discontinued its Net 30 program and is not taking new applications. Business-credit publications that used to list Summa among their recommended net-30 vendors have updated their coverage to say the account is no longer available.
We do not speak for Summa and cannot tell you whether the programme will come back. If you already hold an account there, take questions about an existing balance to Summa directly. What follows is simply for people who need a supplier now.
Five questions worth asking
Net 30 vendors differ more than their websites suggest. These are the five that decide whether an account is worth having — including for the one on this page.
-
Do they open accounts for new businesses?
Plenty of suppliers advertise net-30 terms and then, in practice, want years of trading history or an established credit file. If your business is young, settle this before you spend time on an application.
-
Do they report your payment activity?
A net-30 account only creates a payment record if the supplier actually reports it, and many do not. Ask directly, and treat vagueness on this point as an answer in itself.
-
Is there a fee, and what kind?
Some vendors charge an annual or membership fee and some do not. Neither approach is wrong — but you want the number in front of you before you apply, not after.
-
Is there a minimum order?
A minimum spend per order changes the arithmetic considerably if your business only restocks occasionally.
-
Do they stock what you actually buy?
An account is only worth having if the catalog covers what your office genuinely orders month to month, rather than a narrow slice of it.
How a Crown Net 30 account works
- New businesses can apply
- A long trading history is not a requirement. Companies with little or no established credit history open accounts here. Every application is reviewed, and approval is not automatic.
- Your payment activity is reported
- Each month Crown reports the previous month’s payment activity to the business credit bureaus, in your business’s name — separate from your personal credit file. We make no representations or promises about your credit profile, scores, or outcomes.
- There is an annual membership
- It opens the account and keeps your terms active. The fee is shown in the application before you commit to anything.
- 30 days to pay, no interest
- Every invoice is due 30 days from its invoice date. Pay in full by the due date and no interest is charged.
- One catalog for the whole office
- Office essentials, paper and writing goods, cleaning and breakroom supplies, electronics and equipment — browse the catalog before you apply if you want to check we stock what you buy.
